How to Protect Ring Doorbell During Pressure Washing

You would be hard pressed in finding a cleaning method that comes anywhere close to pressure washing in terms of efficacy and timeliness, but suffice it to say that this cleaning method brings a rather unique disadvantage, namely that of friendly fire. Utilizing jets that are coming out with such immense force means that you need to be very precise while aiming it, and even a little bit of inaccuracy can make it so that something or the other could very well end up getting damaged in some way, shape or form.

The most common thing that can get damaged when you are trying to power wash a house is the doorbell, and a big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that no one really thinks to give it the right kind of protection that it truly needs. Most door bells are given a bit of weather proofing, but that doesn’t mean that they are entirely waterproof at any given point in time. Hence, you need to protect this doorbell unless you want it to break down, and the easiest way to do this is to cover it up.

Plastic is the most waterproof material that currently exists since it allows absolutely no water whatsoever to start passing through it. You would be surprised at just how dry your doorbell will be if you cover it with a sheet of plastic while you are pressure washing anything at all. Try to ensure that the sides have been sealed up otherwise water will be able to sneak in and even the smallest droplet can result in long term bell issues.
